Increase in Fuel Surcharge by Australia Post

We recently received official communication about a significant increase in fuel surcharge rates for parcel deliveries.

From 23 April 2026, the new fuel surcharge rates are:

• Australia Post domestic parcel sending contract & StarTrack Courier: increasing from 4.8% to 12%
• StarTrack Express & StarTrack Premium: increasing from 15.5% to 22.7%

This increase is due to rising global fuel prices, driven by ongoing international conflicts and volatility in the fuel market. As delivery companies adjust their pricing, shipping costs for online businesses like ours have increased substantially.

Impact on International Shipping

This situation is not only affecting shipments within Australia. Similar fuel surcharge increases and logistics cost changes are happening across global shipping networks. Because Rakhi.com sends gifts worldwide, this will also impact deliveries to countries such as:

• India
• United States
• Canada
• New Zealand
• United Kingdom

Shipping partners and courier companies operating in these countries are also adjusting their pricing due to higher fuel and transportation costs.

Why Rakhi.com Has to Change Free Shipping

For many years, Rakhi.com absorbed a large portion of shipping costs to support our customers, especially during the Rakhi festival season when families send gifts internationally.

But due to the sharp increase in fuel surcharge and logistics costs, it has become difficult for us to continue offering free shipping on all orders.

To maintain reliable delivery service and continue serving our customers worldwide, we will now need to apply shipping charges to orders.
